about

Mariah Carey and Minnie Riperton are both known for their ability to sing in the whistle register, which is a very high-pitched range that is not typically found in most people's voices. This can be a difficult register to sing in, and it can sometimes sound "screechy" or "uncomfortable" to the listener. Earl George, who did a remake of the Ivory Joe Hunter tune, "Since I Met You Baby", released as a single in 1976 on the Spider Man record label, produced by Lloyd A. Campbell, on the other hand, does not sing in the whistle register, and his voice is more in the normal register. This can be more pleasing to the listener, as it is not as high-pitched or difficult to listen to.
